When I was going through ultimate, it took me so long to cheap Phantasy Star Online 2 Meseta get through it due to how stingy the falls were in that game but I loved it nonetheless. Next time I picked up it was to get the Xbox using 2 & Epiaode 1, and it was revived. I introduced two of my friends to Phantasy Star Online 2 and we’d split display playing it for hours on end. I had been late to the Blue Burst scene but with the Schthack(sp?) Servers up, and it had been fantastic. Like many RPGs I always had fun with it because it was an escape from life and to relax with. When I look back at it 15, not gon na lie, I feel old.
Having played Phantasy Star games since Online I can say that PSO2 is nothing like the original PSO and it’s also not even nearly as addictive as it has so many things wrong that the first PSO pretty much nailed (for instance the power creep to the endgame was pretty much non existent from the original PSO and items had unique uncompromised special attacks e.g. the Frozen Shooter and Guld Milla). They should have just called Phantasy Star Online 2 Phantasy Star Universe 2 trigger that is what it is really.
For me personally it’s 3 things as that’s all I’ve played. 1: The giant roulette wheel with giant piles of coins. 2: All the public areas, for some time you had to work your way through a mission or 2 just to reach the area you wanted, nice they made a quick transfer for it. 3: The BS system. feeling when you grind out a 10/10 was so epic although everyone hated it.
All those camos from the photon booster shop used to be individual weapons you could throw by milling the holy shit. They compressed them to multi-weapon camos at least rather than having them for each individual weapon.
Better integrated story missions. I’ve been powering through the story for Eps. 1-3 and it’s one of the most agonizing narrative experiences I have ever…experienced. And I even enjoy the narrative / writing. However, the way it’s implemented is aggressively bad.;? Plus it sounds like that is a measure’up‘ from the way it launched. The whole thing frustrates me because PSO 1 did it wonderfully. PSU more so. I don’t know what occurred in PSO2, except to suppose that the original implementation was created to buy meseta pso2 artificially drag out the storytelling within a longer period of time… That is a bad design choice.
